The Best Oopsie Bread Stuffed with Pulled Pork (Low-Carb)

THE BEST OOPSIE BREAD

OOPSIE IS A LOW-CARB BREAD REPLACEMENT THAT IS TAKING THE WORLD BY STORM! If you haven’t eaten bread in months and you crave it THIS is the easiest and tastiest alternative in my opinion. I’m not a low-carb eater but my wife is and I’m the guinea pig who helps her create recipes and has to taste them first like this Oopsie Bread which I gave 5 stars. Don’t worry if you are thrown off by the captivating name of Oopsie bread because I was as well. My wife came to me one day and said the her friend who is also on a low-carb diet made this recipe for low-carb bread called, Oopsie bread. I said, Oopsie what? You probably did too BUT let me tell you even the skeptic in me was changed once I tucked into that delicious low-carb crock-pot pulled pork on 2 Oopsie bread rolls. Where does the Oopsie Bread name come from? I did a little research hoping to find out about Oopsie bread and just as the name suggests it was made as a mistake but a mistake that has made non-bread eaters rejoice. If it were me the recipe would be […]

Do you send a brown bag lunch with your kid to school?-The Saturday Weekend Review #58

money saving dude

BAG IT OR BUY IT   I’m not sure if it’s only the USA where elementary schools might not use the brown bag lunch system rather they pay for a hot lunch in the cafeteria every day. What is a brown bag lunch system? Simple… you make your kid a lunch and send them to school with it! Brilliant idea if you ask me. Although, I’m starting to wonder if anyone sends their kids to school with a brown bag lunch at all in the USA after watching another Yahoo story this morning about kids being treated different because of delinquent lunch accounts. If you are thinking what I’m thinking then you are right to say we are teaching our kids it’s acceptable to buy lunch every day rather than make a healthy brown bag lunch at home. This will be the lesson they carry with them as they get older, at least in my eyes. Then we wonder as adults why the line-ups at the fast food joints at lunch time are jam-packed and why you might find drivers more erratic during the morning rush hour, the lunch rush hour and the rush to get home or maybe to […]

Should kids go without lunch for parents debt? -The Saturday Weekend Review #57

little girl eating lunch

FOOD WASTE FOR NOTHING   Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all important meals of the day. What is also important is making sure that we do our best to make sure that our children are getting their daily nutritional needs looked after. I don’t care who you are or where you live if a child is hungry or asking for food and you do nothing about it then you must be heartless. A child is so innocent that we should never turn our backs on them even if we have nothing to offer.   Don’t pay you don’t eat lunch   Even worse is when you feed a child and then take their lunch away and proceed to throw it in the garbage only because the child’s parents did not pay a lunch bill with the education system. I wasn’t just shocked when I read this article last night on Yahoo about a Salt Lake City, Utah school that wasted 40 lunches of children whose parents failed to pay their cafeteria balance just moments after the meal was served to them. Could you imagine sitting down to eat your lunch so pure at heart only to have someone take that […]

Breaking the Budget: Coffee and Lunch Comparison of 2 Co-Workers

coffee and lunch comparison 2(1)

THIS IS HOW EASY YOU CAN BLOW MONEY WITHOUT KNOWING IT   I’ve worked professionally for the past 4 years and faithfully bring my own 20 oz travel mug of coffee and a hot lunch to work daily. I wanted to compare the figures of what I bring to work to a buddy of mine whom I will call Mr. Co-worker. It’s amazing how fast convenience can add up in the budget and before you know it your budget is shot. There really is some merit to saving money by making food at home compared to buying it. Sometimes it’s better when people see the final numbers rather than the small numbers. We tend to look at something as only costing $50 a month for example which is a reasonable expense in the budget but over the course of the year that $50 cell phone bill will now cost you $600 out-of-pocket. If you find that you know someone you are trying to talk some money sense into or trying to teach them the importance of budgeting this coffee and lunch comparison is a great way to tally up the numbers and give them a bit of a wake up call.
